Three weeks today 07/20/09 seattle , actually in all seriousness it is a jacksonii xantholophus, one of the three subspecies of jackson’s, it is the most common jackson’s and sometimes reffered to as a standard jackson’s , jacksonii xantholophus were originally discovered in kenya and exported heavily until 1981, when kenya stopped exporting them. / in 1972 they were introduced into the hawaiian landscape where, they have become a permanent fixture, much to the dismay of the hawaiian gov. so i guess you could say it is a kenyan chameleon of hawaiian bloodlines, the mother was captive bred and raised stateside , there is a substantial chance the father was wild caught, i have the mother but not the father, my current count of jacksons is ; 1.3.14 (one male ,three females, fourteen babies) any of the 3 jackson’s subspecies can be challenging to keep and many consider the neonate ( babies ) to be among the hardest of all chameleons to raise , they are considered a montane species and require a moister , cooler enviroment than most other chams, jacksons give live birth.
