Welome to the world of chameleons. First of all, let’s go over general husbandry. She should be in a screen cage (provided you are not in Northern Canada or Overseas) with a UVB flourescent tube and a heat source. Live plants are great at keeping up humidity. Maybe you could give us a little bit of information on what you are housing her in. Female Veileds are famous for laying huge clutches of eggs if they are kept too warm and/or overfed. Yes-they will lay eggs without a male. Keep her basking temps in the mid 80’s, with the rest of the cage in the low to mid 70’s, and feed her maybe 6-10 medium crickets every other day. Feeding really depends on the individual chameleon and what you are feeding. Varied diet is best. Silkworms, Superworms, roaches, crickets are all great feeders. As for supplementing, I have mine on a common schedule of a phosphorous free clacium with NO d3 5-6X weekly, calcium with D3 2X monthly, and a multivitamin/mineral supplement (Hertivite/Reptivite) 1X monthly at 8 months of age. Dust one feeding daily lightly-no shake-n-bake. I put the powder in the bottom of a cup, add crickets, and swirl. Good luck and let us know if you have any more questions-OH-one more thing-about the egg laying-I simply keep a 10" tall by 10" around flower pot mixed with Bed-A-Beast and playsand. This way if they need to lay, they have something available-this keeps them from becoming egg bound. Good Luck!

You dont need to live in the northern parts of canada to have great bennefits from more european style cages. There is a great article on chameleonnews.com named "up north caging" or something like that, read it.

Crickets, cockroaches and grasshoppers/locust should be staple food, any "worms" should be supplemental, like a snack now and then. Most "worms" are larvae of something else and most are very fatty.
Ive been keeping chameleons for over a decade and I still find it really dificult to describe feeding. You cant go on numbers, every animal might be different.
