my baby is actively trying to escape the enclosure. I know, i know--it sounds completely legit and understandable to try to escape but thats really all she ever does. I have her in a rubber maid and she tries to climb up the walls though she knows she cant and she jumps up to the lip from the handles so that she can climb on the chicken wire i have on top of the cage. She usually hangs there for a while and then drops down and basks until she starts it again. I’m just wondering if there is something i should be doing to better calm her or if shes just being a baby and curious.
I’m also concerned about her hydration. I have read that desert lizards gain most of their hydration from their diet of leafy veggies but i feel like i should be offering water as well so i have been keeping a shallow dish in her cage. It usually evaporates quite quickly and is not affecting the humidity so I don’t really see a problem, though I have yet to see her drink from it. I’m not sure how often they even drink so I’m a little in the dark here.
Any reply would be helpful.
