And one other thing  I’ve had my pair for over three years now. The female was collected as a juvie, she finds handling extremely stressful. My captive bred male, however, tolerates it well. If you plan on handling your chuck you’re going to want a captive bred animal. You may also want to look into Sauromalus hispidus, the angel island chuckwalla. They get larger than the common chucks, but also tend to be more laid back and tolerant of handling. People that have posted about them over on kingsnake have compared their personality to that of a bearded dragon.
