Chuckwallas are the second largest lizard (upto 18 in.) in the US. They are a heavy , bulky desert lizard that live in rocky areas and when they feel threatened they crawl into the cracks or crevices of the rocks and inflate themselves. They are also vegetarians.

I did a report on chuckwallas years ago! I remember that they have wide tails.

Theres a Chuckwalla that has a red tail thats only in Az called the South Mountain Chuckwalla, pretty sweet lookin liz
