 How do collards act if i take em out of the wild?

Im going to california to catch different kinds of reptiles and one of those reptiles happens to be a collard lizard

if collards are taken out of the wild they have little chance od serviving. They will cxontinuualy press their nose up against the glass and eventualy die. I would recomend buying a captive bred one.

OK JakeMyster44 you are SO wrong! well they do have less life capicity as captive boughts do. but if you put em in a good sized tank (minemum 20 gal) and have good temps (cool side 80-85f hot side 100f basking spot at least 105f) good substrate (natural colored sand NOT red or orange it stains there skin) reasnoble food (crickets, mealworms, locusts,superworms for big ones a pinky mouse every now and then feed them every other day for juveniles for adults 3 times a week). you should have a peice ofdrift wood for them to climb on and a couple of reasnoble sized rocks. But catching them they will try to bite you anytime they can and when they do... it will hurt. well good luck herping hope this helps.

i caught a male collared in my back yard and i put him in a 250 gallon tank and hes way happy. he only put his nose to the glass the first day then he figured it out.
