Silkworms would be great, they are packed full of calcium so you don’t even need to dust them.

Jango wouldn’t eat them though he licked them, looked at me in disgust and walked off!

Can you get locusts? Jango loves to chase them, plus I get a tub of waxworms and let a few turn into moths for a little treat.

He seems to go off food for a bit he likes it to be changed round quite a bit. Also he seems to eat loads, shed then not eat so much. Maybe its just collared lizards as there are a lot of posts about this.

Thank-you both for your comments! Savannah has been soooo picky it is scary. She used to love crickets. Then she didn’t want them and wanted only meal worms (no way Jose)! So i put crickets back in and she grabs a tentacle then lets go as if she might hurt the darn thing. I took everything out of her cage and made her eat. I told her she could have the stuff back when she ate 3 crickets! Needless to say she ate! But i cannot keep doing that because it is like punishment!
She has never been fully right since we got her but i will be damned if I am going to let her die...We LOVE HER TOO MUCH!!!
So thank-you and i will try all.
Thank-you
Dawn

She sounds exactly like Jango! You do know they should only get fed every other day don’t you?

We were worried at first but then we thought if hes hungry he is going to eat, he normally eats three crickets every other day. Occasional locusts, waxworms and waxworm moths.

Just before he sheds he eats 5-7 crickets every day!

 Savannah is not eating!!!!

Well I recently changed her substrate to the sand...well my daughter caught her eating it. No wonder she is not eating! Guess I have to go back to the walnut shells. Everyone said no, but at least she wasn’t eating that. Now I have to get pedialyte because she is not pooping. Man i am mad!

Please don’t use walnut shells! They are the one of the worst substrates you can have, collared lizards are one of the only lizards for which sand is recommended. I personally use rough tile like slate, with tile there is no danger of them eating it and its very easy to clean!

To get things moving, try dipping a wax worm in some olive oil. The oil will help things along or try giving her a bath with a little tummy rub.

I use tile with my collard. He has a little cave so he can hide. Works well all around and he seems happier. His food also doesn’t get lost. Most Collards are found in Texas, Arizona, and I think I read California etc... Here in AZ we don’t have "dirt", more like red clay that sometimes turns to mud. lol
