my mom said i can get one finally!!!!!!!!!! can i get one at petsmart or petco if so wat kind is it? wat kinda gal tank do i need 1 in because i’m only getting one

I did get mine at a petco, however, I have yet to see another one there since then. Its worth a try though. If they don’t you might wanna try asking an employee they may be able to order one for you.

I have looked around for other similar lizards but haven’t found any in the same size range that I like as much as collards. Most of my other favorites get larger.

I would check reptile shows before pet shops. Better chance of finding CB babies. The ones in pet shops are specifically removed from the wild because people keep buying them. Since I happen to want one because I like them, I can’t really justify voting that the pet shop should keep ordering half a dozen at a time (encouraging people who couldn’t care less about the lizards’ welfare to go out and stuff their trunks with as many as they can catch) and keeping them in a single underheated ten gallon tank, just so I can have the pleasure of having one. Since I like them, it makes no sense to do. If I didn’t like them, why would I even want one?

Unfortunately, in my area, the shows don’t seem to have any collared breeders either. One guy had a beer cooler full of deli cups of freshly caught specimens, many of them obviously gravid, but I had no interest in financially encouraging him to continue doing that. Hopefully nobody else was buying either, including pet shops, and he’ll stop carrying them. But if people keep ordering them from pet shops and not making it clear that they will only buy CB (which will involve individual UPS shipping and run the pricetag way, way up from what a wild one out of the beer cooler guy’s truck costs) then the pet shops will keep giving money to those guys.

I’ll give it one more try. I know a lot of them hatch late, so something might turn up at the October show. If not, it looks like I’ll have to start emailing some breeders. It’s practically October now, and I don’t live in a state where shipping is a good idea during the winter, so chances are pretty good I won’t be able to get one until next year. And I won’t be surprised if with shipping and eveything it runs me close to a hundred bucks, instead of twenty or thirty if I want to put ethics aside and do it the easy way.
However, since you probably don’t live where I live, you might get very lucky and find a breeder right within driving distance, and not have to pay fifity extra bucks for shipping just to deal with somebody respectable.

i bought 2 from petsmart never had a problem just got another one a few weeks ago they said it’s wc but he’s very friendly.

I picked up mine at P.J’s Pets I believe this chain is Canadian only,
But I have seen them in PetSmart, and Super Pet.
