 Hi im new

They live longest if kept in cages at least three feet long, so I wouldn’t say thirty inches is ideal. Especially since there seem to be no captive-bred ones on the general market, so anything you find in a pet shop is going to be used to a lot of room. There’s enough demand for CB collareds that people who breed them simply have no need to dump them in pet shops. I think that the similar-looking but unrelated Guyana Collared Swift is a bit smaller though, like around eight inches. There’s a lot of them around, but I’m not sure if they’re wild or CB. Pretty sure they’re being bred, because it’s mostly babies that I see for sale.

 Hi im new

Hi Lisa,

I’m normally on the BD forum too. I have a collared lizard Jango, I don’t know about the US I’m from the UK and Jango was CB.

He is in a 3ftx1.5ftx1.5ft.

Collareds are one of the only lizards where you can use sand as a substrate, I personally use tile.

They only eat a small amount compared to the dragons, but seem to be very fussy and easily bored if you keep feeding them the same thing!

They are great to watch and are so fast running round their tanks. They seem to be quite fiesty but with regular hangling they quickly calm down
