Food ? Without sparking a huge debate over bringing food from outside (i know the dangers and can ensure that the insects are pesticide free), has anyone ever fed their lizard Phyllophaga (june bug) larvae? These are the common white grubs found in many lawns. I have used them as fish bait for years, and while picking some up recently I began to wonder if a collared would eat them. Just wanted to know if anybody has tried it.

Food ? make sure they cant bite him. and if they cant bite him, i’d give him one and see if he bites it up a bit before swalloing so the thers no live bug in him, or the lizard might bite at himself. then dont give him another one for a few days and if hes fine i bet its ok. iv never given mine any, but i would if they didnt bite.

Food ? Any insect, that can bite back... is really hard to say, you gotta hope, your lizard, is able to kill it, an now swallow it whole. If you want, you can ’pre-kill’ it so it cannot defend it self.
I’ve never tried, but then again crickets, apparently are carnivorious(sp?) and thats all my lizard eats, and she’s perfectly healthy, and normal.
