Questions on collard collards can get big 12 inches or more in some cases. They can be easily tamed but have a tendency to bite--mine has never drawn blood or hurt but others have said that they do. i would say that a 55 in not suggested, they need a lot of surface area and a regular 55 is to narrow and tall. its big enough but the dimensions are wrong. a lot of ppl use a 40 gal breeder tank. and washed playsand is the best substrate for adults.

Questions on collard i have one and getting another 2 soon. he was guite nippy, drew blood once, and a fast runner. mine live in a 3’ x 2’ x 2’ with sand. he loves to climb too so there are many things for him to climb. he loves to jump around so my tank is 2’ in height. he loves it and has now calmed down enough for us to pick him up and he falls asleep on us. have a look at my last post...
