 Leopard lizards

I saw only a couple threads on these so any additional info would help. I looked for care sheets, but there are only a few good ones on the web. Anyone have one? Are they fast? Are they capable of living in pairs? Are they handlable? Suggestions for findind some would help also. Thanks, Alec

They’re fast if kept at the right temperature, and they would probably do better in trios (one male, two females, large cage) then with just one of each. Most lizards do, because the females like to be left alone sometimes. I’ve never had one. The only one I’ve seen in captivity was in a pet shop cage with a collared lizard and was bloody from the collared lizard picking on it, so apparently they don’t bite as hard as collareds do. rescue was temoting, but when you do that the pet shop just laughs all the way to the bank and buys more. Care would be pretty similar to a collared, though. Or a swift. Hot, bright, dry cage, sharp thermal gradient, basking rocks, varied insectivorous diet, fruit and greens if it’ll take any, UVB lighting, very shallow water dish (as in, like, peanut jar lid or something like that) some crevices to hide in, enough space to actually get a run going, and a little bit of calcidust but far less than most people think, since it mostly just eats insects in the wild anyway.

Any more experience with these? Pics? What would I do if I don’t want them mating, and be able to keep two? In the same cage? Thanks, Alec

I’d just go with two females then. They wouldn’t be likely to fight over territory, and they wouldn’t mate.
To be honest, I have no idea at all how to sex them though.
