 Collared question

Hi,
I was wondering if repti sand or tile would be suitable for a texas collared lizard?

repti sand.. as in calcium sand.. its bad for all lizards in my opinion
the tile works.. i have it in my collared tank

Hi
No its not calcium sand I hate that along with walnut shells.I am using playsand but needed to clean out the cage and dont have a car for a few days but I found a bag of repti sand.So I thought it might work for a few days.What kind of tile, should I use tera cota type tiles?Thanks,

In my collared lizard tank, i use slate tile from lowes.. I also use it in my uro tank and 1 of my beadie tanks... the other beardie tank, i use ceramic...
IMO it should have a little bit of a rough surface because it helps to keep there nails trimmed down... i also have a wash cloth under one of my hides and he sleeps in there

That sounds alot cheaper too.Im going to use it for my beardie to.Do I have to grout it or can I get tight fitting so I can remove to clean?Also could you post a pic so I can tell what Im looking for?Thanks a ton,

mine is grouted in...some people use silicone... i guess its just personal preference...
I have also heard of using some other stuff called ecsavtor(not spelled right) it hardens but when you wet it.. its like clay
here are some of my tanks
