Turning Up The Heat...... I just got a collard lizard 2 days ago and my basking site is only 95 F degrees. I have a 100 watt mercury vapor uvb bulb above it as well as a 150 watt heat emmitter. How do I get the basking spot above 100 degrees? He goes to bed early and he only ate 4 crickets today. He is only 7 months old. I thought he was supposed to eat more than that. Im going to try to feed him some meal worms tommorrow and see if that works. Also he is in shed. Does being in shed have anything to do with his small appitite?

Turning Up The Heat...... the temp is fine and if you have only had him for 2 days he won’t eat a lot like when I got mine they only ate 2 crickets but now they will eat 10 every other day

Turning Up The Heat...... Hey Chip, I have been reading most of your posts and it seems like you really love your collards. Im glad to hear that. As for my new guy, it seems that he cannot catch any crickets. So I have been feeding him superworms. Eve, from suncharmers.com, told me superworms are better than mealworms cause they have a softer shell. So my question is, to anyone, does anyone have any suggestions on a staple diet? Or should I just keep offering him crickets, eventhough at the end of the day, I just take all of the crickets out of his cage and feed them to my crested geckos. And my last question: How old do collards need to be inorder to breed? Like I said, I have a 7 month old, georgous blue, collard and I would like some babies. Thank you for all your help
P.S. Sorry I cant take any pics. I dont have a camera yet.
