What Shall I name my new babies?? the person you need to talk to is reptileruler he has had collards for many yrs. as far as names go it can be anything, I had one named turbo once ha ha !anyway not sure of any good books mine are all getting old and out dated but I have found some info online mostly the cage is the biggest problem I run into generally i would say house collard or collards in a 40 gal, breeder cage or bigger the more running room the better, well hope this helps CHIP!

My new Collards (any advice would be great) Hi, getting my new babies tomorrow, I have got basking light uvb light heat mat etc basically the same as our beardies!!! We have converted our old 4ft fish tank into viv for them and I have got core, and plastic plants and a stone hide, and log bridge for them. Been checking the temp today going up to bout 98c .
They are eastern collards Think I will go with Tex / or Texas for male as thats where some collards come from.
Sahara for 1 female, as in Sahara desert as I think you can get a desert collard
Then Suri as she is the smallest and Suriname is the smallest country in South America, I think thats were Collards come from.
Tex/as -M
Sahara -F
Suri - F
Cant wait to pick them up Sat
Im a bit concerned about one the females she seems skinny, but reptile shop was willing to sell at good price if I took the three and to be honest seemed nasty leaving one out that could do with fatting up? Any ideas how to help Suri gain weight????
As mentioned to use repti boost any used or hear of it???

My new Collards (any advice would be great) ok every thing sounds good except when you said the temp got up to 98c if you mean Celsius then that’s way too hot when i told you 95-105 i ment Fahrenheit 38-41 Celsius or 95-105 is max basking temps and if you weren’t meaning celsius then it’s fine and to faten her up just give her lots of food when you get her and if she’s really underweight get waxworms but don’t feed them to any other ones because collareds get addicted to waxworms and your collareds might not eat for 2-5 days after you get them but go ahead and trie on the first day ok well anymore questions just ask oh and i’ve never heard of repti boost but usually any underweight reptile you find at a store is probably healthy (not always though) but pet stores don’t take real good care of there animals just see if shes active and her eyes aren’t sunk in at all if they are DON’T GET HER!! because in most cases if you get a lizard like that it will be dead in 3 days
