Psycho Lizard Cat food? Be careful with that. Don’t feed it more than 1 time a week. It is very fattening. I’m using my knowldege of monitors eating catfood for this. But it is ood for if your lizard is sick or not eating.-collin

Psycho Lizard Cat foods for cats not lizards!! I used to own an iguana many years ago and i though id try him on cat food as a treat but after speaking to an experianced keeper he told me not to offer it as it was very fattening and also is very rich and contains a lot of animal by products. These are definatley not safe for a collared or any lizard in my opinion as there digestive system is different to that of a mammal (cat). Just my thoughts. My collareds Dont eat veggies at all even though i offer them 3 mybe 4 times a week, just as a variety. I have heard of collareds picking at veggies but seeing as they are insectivores they seem to prefer the challenge of chasing down there prey..

Psycho Lizard cat food is a definate no-no, with veggies chop them small and place meal worms or something similar in them and it may encourage them to eat them. tb collareds vary some will eat vvegiies some wont. if it doesnt it is not a big loss. on the behaviour if the lizards, i would say they feel insecure. check they have loads of hides. dont wear bright colours around them and avoid deodrants/aaftershave and strong scents as these are known to cause aggressiveness.

Psycho Lizard its not about liking things, you could like drugs so does that make it ok to use them? NO(its a bit offtopic but it helps my point.).Most animals will eat anything so does that make it good for them. NO! cat/dog food is exactly that, its for cats and dogs. if reptiles could eat it without any dangers associaed then it would be sold as reptile food and everyone would be using it. but they dont. if you wish to continue using it then its up to you but when your lizard is ill and quite possibly dies then the only person to blame will be you.

I think (not taking sides) that your lizard will eat things that are not dangerous to him he/she will know if it is bad like alcohol makes you sick or makes your brain go funny, drugs make you thin and ugly if it is bad your lizard will know and i don’t thin your lizard will die it will know when to stop unless cat food is addictive!! lol!

that’s what i thought! when i say eats cat food i mean 2/3 small/tiny chunks! i also feed her crickets so she has the choice of what to eat! believe me if i thought that it was doing any harm i would stop feeding it to her straight away but as yet no significant problems! and as i said looks healthy to me. shes even started chasing mice (joke!)
