 Ok male or female????

Hey guys,
Here are pic’s of the collareds, I know one is male and female but I am not sure about the smaller one. It was kinda dull was tan/brown when I got it. Then it shed a few days after I got it and got really green. My camera is not taking the best pic’s it’s holding out colors it is more green than what the pic shows.
But give me a guess on what you think it might be.
It does NOT have color under the neck..

Ugh I’m not happy with these pics at all, this little one has alot more green than the pic’s show! And I was told by people that females will not be bright green but then alot of other people told me yes some female can be bright not just tan..

The head shape looks female. Males tend to have a longer and/or sharper snout.

she also has a dull colored head and no red markings on her males get that right before adult hood so she’s probably a female.
This is my Juv. male notice the orange strips on his neck and back.


Young males get those colors young females won’t except in breeding season.

My females are the only ones that get any orange or red. What colors a male gets varies. Pancho has no orange or yellow whatsoever. Certainly doesn’t stop him from mating, though.

oh well young male collareds get that orange coloration about a month before they reach adulthood.

What size/age are you talking about? Pancho was hatched in October and I got him in early March, at maybe eight inches, tops. Never seen orange on him. He went straight from chasing crickets to chasing girls, though, as soon as he saw orange on them...

some develop the coloration a few weeks after being born others a few months depends on the individual and the males. some don’t get it for a whole year my male that has it is was about 11 months 13 months now and has lost all the coloration.
