PC Help
I see there is already 1 member offering this service but I’ve learned early on that you can NEVER have too much help. Just a little background. I’ve been working in the IT field for over 12 years doing everything from basic pc and laptop builds to image distribution, traiing, servers, networking, cabling, wireless etc... you name it, I’ve probably done it. The only thing I don’t do is coding.... you’d have to send that back to Doug. that’s it.. Mark |

Welcome to the site. Thanks for joining and helping members with computer issues. I’m not a Windows person like Mark is, anything past 98SE I am no good for. I thought I remembered you doing some coding back in the late 90’s. Anyway...I think we should put Mark in the hot seat and test his knowledge. The scenario: Just bought a new computer, it won’t start at all. You open the box up and see the CPU and fan is in place correctly and the RAM is in tight. Before you tear apart the computer what is one of the next thing (or things) that should be checked next. I don’t quiz everybody, but I always liked busting Mark’s chops. Thanks Doug |

just bought a new computer!! grrrr............................................... lol i guess all new comps have VISTA!!!!!!! ok so i go to set it up like i would my XP and it set up and everything and went on line and all, but then i go to a game and it prompts me to dial up! DIAL UP?? i dont have dial up lol...not even set up for that..... so, i probably put all the numbers in the wrong place..... anywho...theres another one for yus........  |

as far as your question Doug - I actually would have started from the inside and I have checked that before but I wasn’t even thinking power supply yet - I’ve had them before where the CPU slips during shipping but that was specifically with an older compaq. you crack me up - I post a message to help people and you quiz me??? as least some things will never change. btw - wanted to let you know that I did get your message at the house.. sorry for not calling you back yet... also got stuck in the middle of redoing the kitchen too..... house is a wreck, working 60+ hrs a week.. no time for anything but sleep, beer and work =) |
