 Laptop internet problem?please help

well i have a pc and a laptop and when ever i try to go on the internet on the laptop (which is connected) internet properties comes up and not the internet explorer what do i do?

I need more details ...does it connect to the internet or not?
Is it a Internet page or a properties box that is asking for a connection?

I will re-read your post and see if I can duplicate the problem ...
What are you using for a connection...wirelees or ethernet?
The desk top works fine and is connected to the internet ? And how ...modem ...DSL...what ?

What brand are your items ...need to get details ...please

yes i am connected to the internet wirelessly and i am using a modem and the brand is 2wire

So then the properties box pops up and you close it and all is well ....just a thing that happens when you sign on or ....what?

Does the pc have any issues and is it set up to share the internet with your laptop..... I searched Windows xp help and Inernet explorer help ...the connection wizard and network wizard are the only 2 areas that have this info/ related...I would not know what would cause that irritating box to always pop up ...I do not have a wireless card or 2nd pc in the house...

Try posting in this forum ...these guys are wizards

What operating system is this? If it is Windows Vista try the ’diagnose problem’ button.

Maliuromastyx - let’s start simply.. you’re double clicking on the desktop icon or on the quick launch icon on the tool bar?

can you go to start - run and type in iexplore and see if that opens up a browser window? your shortcut may be bad - if you’re getting properties, as stupid as it sounds it could be something with the mouse..

try running iexplore and let me know what you get.. then we can move forward...
