 Escapee question

Has anyone had any luck with the pop bottle trap method in retrieving escaped corns ?

I have my doubts about this method of catching them and have a few questions ..

1 - Do they actually work has anyone used them ?

2 - Does the bottle need to be on heat pad or tape to work or does it help ?

3 and the dumbest question lol ... will they be able to smell the mouse if it is inside the bottle or does it have to be up in the funnel part half hanging in and out ?

thanks in advance ...

silly little buggers are hard to find lol

worked for me but i modified, cut extra lits into bottle make sure funnel is inverted, and then in stad of heatpad use a space heater. hous ewill stink but not as bad as if you left a mouse without heat. least not as long. i asked how logn mouse can be left out i was told approx 24 hours but knock few hours off cuz heat but shoudl still be around 24. also leave water out for ur snake. only took 4 hours for mine to reappear heading straight to the bottle climbing in lol. and can always return space heater if get form walmart lol. gl to ya

 Escapee question

I have had one escape, which I got really lucky and found him that morning. I have since taken extra security measures on his cage.
But, just in case, can some one explain the method you are talking about here, or direct me to a page that has an illustration?

Ok no problem ..

take a 2Litre bottle of pop ..

cut the top of it off right where it no longer tapers..
turn the top back inside to make a funnel ...
put mouse inside
tape funnel in place

works apparently on the theory the snake will have problems finding the hold out and bu stuck in there.

this is a similar illustration

Cool. Very ingenious idea. Now the big question does it really work? lol
Also, how about if you incorporated some sort of plastic strips that would readily bend inward toward the mouse or bait but not back out?
