 Reptile bark??

hey how come everyone uses aspen for corn snakes i used to use aspen but it just dosent look good i use repti bark and it looks good and my snake loves it so whats the deal with aspen???i mean it works but repti bark works and looks good.

I alternate between beech chips and aspen they like to bury in aspen more than bark.

Its more absorbant than other substrates

because there have been cases of them obtaining mites from the bark, so some just dont want to risk it. I like the look of aspen, so I haven’t used bark anyway.
