 RIP Tiger

I went to go feed tiger tonight and when I saw him he was all curled up and did not move i picked him up and he was dead. he was all stiff and his eyes were gone but it seemed to be very recent that he passed. i feel absolutely horrible. He was eating good his temps were good he was active and seemed to be a pretty healthy snake. I found a meal worm beetle in his cage and there was a hole in him. i have no idea how the beetle got in there (I have been away, bf was taking care of him) we are trying to breed mealies for our leos but they are all the way on the other side of the room how did one get in my snake cage..??? and did it kill my tiger....oh i feel just awful he was so beautiful and now he is gone.

Sorry about your loss Allie!

As for the mealworms, I breed them too. The adults wouldn’t bother your corn, and the mandibles of the larva are far too small to kill it, so I’m almost positive it didn’t die from them. But the hole may have been caused by either beetle or larva looking for moisture in flesh or something.

thanks everyone. it was just shocking he was in perfect health he just went through a shed he was eating every 5 days and then out of the blue he died. he was a great pet i will miss him
