 Golden Corn

I doubt if many here have herd of it. It was caught by Carsten Zoldey who is a friend of my friend that I herp with. He found it while road cruising in South Carolina a few years ago. He went back later and found a mate for it from the same area and bred them. He raised the babies and bred them back the Golden Corn and had some goldens hatch out from that resultant clutch. So it did prove it to be a recessive genetic trait. He is however not much into morphs as he prefers locale specific animals. so it may be sometime before we see this morph out there in the pet trade.
Here is a pic of the Golden Corn and no this is not fake or photo shopped, can you imagine a striped version of this or a hypo striped version?

It’s a very nice corn. Have you ever seen it in person? It’s quite the stunner, he had it set out at the Raleigh expo awhile back on display.

Also, I believe he was selling possible hets (before it was proven out) at the expo, but am not 100% sure.

What? Up until this summer, that was the only one. The other that hatched out are still owned by Carsten.

I’ve seen that snake before (pics) and have always wondered what came of it.

I imagine one of the big wigs has worked out some sort of deal with the owner. Let us know if you get any inside information :)

That’s a gorgeous corn - I agree with the bling comment - that’s just how it looks! I hadn’t heard of this before either. It does look a little like a high yellow anery but different, with golden shine everywhere. What a stunner.

What an immense corn! Amazing find. Truley special although so, in my opinion, are all snakes. Especially corns! Very nice snake though.

I saw one of those at a reptile show a couple of years ago. Seems pretty rare.

Unless you saw the exact one in the picture above you saw something else. That was the only one in existence then. The only new goldens are owned by the same guy and they just hatched out this past summer by breeding the golden above to a normal wc from the same area (made het goldens) and then breeding that offspring back to the above golden. What show was it at? I believe he had it on display last year but I didn’t think he took to any shows before that.

I just found your forum, omg it is so beautiful! My husband is going to be shocked! Thank you so much though for commenting back on it. I seen your forum on here and I was telling my husband about it but I couldn’t remember how long ago or by whom had posted the forum. Thank you again.
