 Color Changes

Hello...I noticed in our first post someone mentioned color changes in babies. At what age do they generally stop changing colors? Is it usually lighter to darker or the other way around? We took our snake outside the other day and noticed that his color is actually looking more orange than red. I guess the changes occured after his shed. If you have pics of the changes plz post them.

Thanks in advance!

Snakes change colour a lot. Some might not but others do. Often babies get lighter as they grow older and then darker when they get really old. It depends on the morph of the snake, hope this helps:

Yes, normal corns are darker and duller looking as hatchlings. The yellows and oranges intensify as they physically mature. This is not directly related to age so much as to growth rate. If you feed one hatchling twice as much as it’s sibling then you will notice the change sooner. Remember snakes do not mature with age but instead mature with gained size. The color changes become more pronounced as they age and then will start to dull out some when they get into more advanced years past their prime.
