First do research.....TONS

They are awesome but you cant just "get" and "breed" them..... They take TONS of work.

Good Luck

 Amel Corn

Im not new to snakes, ive had snakes for about to be 5 years, I’m not saying thats much, i know alot of people on here have had 3 times or more experience with snakes. But all im saying is that im not new to taking care of snakes. I know your not being mean and your just looking out for the welfare of the snake and i respect that, and plus im not on this forum much, im usually on the king and milk forums but anyway, i appreciate the response,THX.

 Amel Corn

I have just recently fallen in love with corn snakes... the first one I bought was sold to me under the pretense of being a creamsickle(I didn’t know the difference).. then when a breeder friend saw her.. he said.. what a great albino that is... lol not that I care what morphs I have.. they are just so sweet and lovable... Ari was my first corn... and since then I’ve bought 8 more and my 12 year old caught a normal in his friend’s yard.. so altogether.. I have 10 corns... I have females: reverse Okeetee Phase..Abbott’s Okeetee...an Amber.. a Rootbeer... and an Anery Motley. males : Abbott’s Oketee... a Caramel...an Ultramel(het caramel) and a Normal... the wild caught is also a normal.
I agree with what they said about doing research.. but it’s my opinion.. corn snakes are the easiest snakes to take care of... and you just about have to tie them in a knot to make them LOOK like they might bite you... they are very sweet. Be sure to let us know if you get one...

 Amel Corn

Hey there milkY_king. Corns are indeed great snakes to keep. I currently have 35 snakes, mostly corns.
What type of amel are you interested in? There are quite a variety of amels and amel based morphs these days.
Here’s a few pics of some of mine....
Alcatraz...motley sunglow...

Blaze, amelanistic corn, male...

Cloe, my daughter’s sunglow, female yearling...

Flame, amelanistic male, yearling...

Rain, my daughter’s motley Peachglow female...

River, my daughter’s Peachglow motley striped male...

These are from a unique line currently being produced by Jay Fischer Herps, here in Florida. To my knowledge they are the only breeder producing them at this time...Here’s a small pic of what some of the adults look like....

So as you can see, there are actually many amels.
The latest craze is the Ultra or Ultramel. This is currently the only "co-dominant" gene known in corn snakes. It is only co dominant with the amel gene, however. There are still many breeding trials going on, and more to be learned about the ultra gene.
Good luck and make sure you are ready to breed before you actually do it.

 Amel Corn

I appreciate the response Kojak, those are some beautiful corns, very pretty.Me and my friend, I_Love_Snakese,have been in snakes for a good while,(him longer than me, a good bit longer than me).Ive kept snakes for about 5 years and him about 9, and weve did plenty of research on breeding but never ended up doing it, we like kings and milks the best but havent any money really to fund the breeding so i think what we are going to do is just get a pair of snakes,( what kind still undicided), as babies or juviniles and when we have the funds, by that time the snakes will probably be mature anof or close to it to breed, and then start breeding.Anyway, a breeder in Alabama offered us a deal on amel corn snakes and we are seriously thinking about getting them.Thats the reason for all this and I thank all the members who have responded and helped in this, and i appreciate the response and the pics Kojak, so to all,THX.
