 OT- Oddball hatchling

My house snakes are doing pretty well breeding wise, however I did hatch out an oddball.
This was from 2 wc adults red x red pairing, completely random.

First the normal siblings for comparison.

Next the "oddball"

Leaning towards it being a hypo lace due to personal opinion and another breeders input. Will probably be holding back the rest of the clutch to prove it out.
Thanks for looking
-Dan

I literally said "Woah!" when I saw that last photo. Even if he isn’t hypo, I’m sure he’ll be quite pretty. Good luck with him, whatever he may turn out to be.

My first thought was hypo as well. If they are recessive traits in house snakes (lace and hypo) then all you have to do is breed it back to one of the parents to prove it out since they should both be het for those same traits. Thet siblings would only be possibly het for one or both.

I have been wanting to get back into house snakes for a few years now. I used to keep them in the early 90’s and they are fun.

One problem with breeding back to the parents. Both were imports, male NEVER wanted to eat, just breed, after a few force feedings I still lost him. So hopefully this hatchling will be male, if not, I will hold back siblings.
And Ralph, let me know, I have more then enough reds/normals to go around. 2 clutches hatched right now, 16 eggs in the incubator, and 1 (maybe more) gravid females. Should be producing amels late summer.

What are you talking about? Corn snakes look like corn snakes, pythons look like pythons, seeing as neither of these snakes are mentioned in this thread I am completely baffled by your question.

I’ve never heard of house snakes until now. Although as far as snakes go that oddball is very pretty in my book.

I am guessing that OT means Off-Topic. Since this post is about house snakes and this is a corn board.
