Very nice!

But ummmm.... why do you have a roll of paper towels in the enclosure
in the first pic (with the amel)?

And what kind of substrate is that?
(not condemning it [yet - LoL], curious to what it is :o)

OK - let me rephrase this...

Quote:

why do you have a roll of paper towels in the enclosure
in the Second pic ... And what kind of substrate is that?

Also - what kind of "wood chips" are those in the Other pics?

Not Cedar or Pine I Hope!!!

OK Calm down they are not cedar or pine. The paper towel was in because i had just fed her a mouse in her nesting box and didn’t want the mouse covered in vermiculite.

Oh - yea ok I can see the lil bloodspot - LoL

OK - now why vermiculite?

I have seen it used for Eggs, but not Snakes... is this common practice for you?

Good pics by the way.
Marg as for the Vermiculite in the lay box /Nesting box.
It can be used as a laying substrate but gets rather messy IMO I much prefer to use dampened moss or just plain old garden soil With no pesticides of course .

hi there. some photo advice. im a keen photographer so here’s a golden rule for taking animal/reptile pics.
always have the eyes in focus as thats where your audience will look 1st. try adjusting the depth of field settings as snakes will be in/out of focus due to thier length. more depth of field equals less light coming through the lens so beware of camera shake on a long shutter open setting. try using a tripod. you will get pin sharp pics that way too.
good effort though considering it’s a new camera to you. keep away from nasty point and shoot digi’s. they are not what you need.

good luck.

Ok thanx Alan :o)

Just wondered why one would have Vermiculite in a feeder box - LoL

Kinda looking for some thing more "natural looking" but don’t want
some thing so dark I can’t find the "Messy spots" ...using Aspen now,
always have, just lookin around :o)

It’s a lay box not a feeder box.
