 Racist Corn? lol.

Hey Guys. Heres the deal. I purchased a Large Male Hypo Corn at a herp show a few months back. My Original intention was to pair him with my Female Cali King. When I paired the two together, It didnt quite go as planned. He wanted nothing to do with her. It was almost as if he was afraid of her. When she crawled on him, he would arch his back & slam her against the cage. and as soon as I opened the cage he would shoot out and bolt across the room. He’s alot bigger than her all around. So i’m not really understanding this behavior. She was all about making babies & He just wanted to get away.
but anyway. So just out of curiosity I put one of my Female Hondurans in with him. Same response. Then I tried a Thayeri. Just to see if i could get a different reaction. I had no intentions on breeding them.Still the same situation. Lastly. I put My pretty little okeetee in with him. He was a little skittish at first, but it didnt take but a minute for him to get on the ball. So is he racist? Is this a common behavior? Should I just give up on trying to get some jungle corns out of him? Has anyone ever experienced this. I would like to know a little bit more about it. Any incite would help.
Thanks guys.. Hope you didnt fall asleep reading this.

There is a little more to it than just throwing them together in the same cage. He doesn’t recognize her as a potential mate, she’s not a corn snake. You will probably have to put them thru prebreeding conditioning by brumating them for 2-3 months at about 55 degrees but it is too late for that now. Once they come out of brumating and the female starts to ovulate you will need to use the bait and switch technique. Basically you introduce the male to a corn that is ready to breed. Let them breed once or twice and then switch out the female corn for the female cali king. The theory here is that the male corn has "breeding tunnel vision" and doesn’t want to do anything other than breed.

Maybe the corn snake just knew the king wanted to eat him...

Any ’canadian garters’ involved?
