If all this is correct, the chances are you’ve fed your snake too much. I’m not a great believer in this theory of if the lump is gone within 24 hours then the snake hasn’t had enough. One appropriately sized item is better than two, especially with a young snake which has a small stomach - and slightly underfeeding is better than overfeeding. If I were you I’d then go on to one fuzzy rather than two pinkies - I think it’s safer, and I have gone through a few regurges in situations like this so have become rather cautious about feeding too much at once. Leave your snake alone - don’t handle it at all. Make sure all the husbandry is correct, as above. It will probably regurgitate, and if so, don’t feed it again for ten days and when you do, give one small pinky only or even half a pinky. Still no handling, and after another week you can feed another small pinky. If the snake handles this ok, you can continue with normal sized pinkies, but don’t try to feed two pinkies at once for at least another month, and don’t handle the snake at all for a few weeks - as I say, I think it’s better to gradually increase the size rather than doubling it suddenly. I know people say to do it, but I think that’s wrong and misleading. If your snake doesn’t regurge and the lump remains, a vet visit would be a good idea. Keep us posted. |
