 Thought Id stop by...:)

Hey guys and gals. Havent been to this forum in a while. Mainly been on the Ball Python side. Showing off my Jynx. Anyway, I decided to snap some pics of Nimrod my Corn Snake. He is roughly 3 years old and I believe I got him at a few months old. Hes an Anery Corn Snake, and hes a fatty. Lol. I just switched him from hoppers to Adult Mice, so hes a happy little snake. lol. Enjoy!!

All nice and fat from todays feeding. Lol..

His tub set up. :)

Thanks for looking!

My previous post name was Mister Murder, so I dont want you guys to think I stole ~his~ snake, while its actually just me. Lol. I lost my password. Lmao..

Hi Mike
Awsome snake!

When I used eco earth with my first corn(years ago) I found that it was too dusty and got in his eyes if he tried to burrow. Do you see this?
Hehe I also think you need a bigger water dish and maybe bigger hides....looks like he’s outgrown everything in his house :)

Sorry I’m so nit-picky :)

Thanks for all the compliments everyone.

Hey ILoveGreen, actually he fits in his hides perfectly. I would have a bigger water dish in his tank, but the humidity in his tank is always high for some reason. This specific bowl was the heaviest "big bowl" I found that he wont tip over. He had a bigger one, but would constantly tip it over, further rising the humidty. I finally got the humidty under control with this bowl. The humidty would get so high at points the inside would fog up and I had to take him out and keep him in a spare tank until I got it under control again. Im going to replace that half log with a bigger one soon though. The Eco-Earth is pretty good. Im debating to change it in his tank. It workds fine with my other 3 snakes, but he seems to have all the problems. He always has some caught in his mouth for trying to out of his tank through the bottom, so I may change him to paper towels soon until I get him a bigger tub set up. So I freak out sometimes thinking he could have mouth rot, but i realize its his bedding, so Im either changing it to aspen, since it doesnt hold humidity that well, which is good since Ive had problems and the fact it wont bug him like the Eco-Earth. :)

You can lower the humidity by getting rid of the eco earth....I use that in all my frog cages to keep the humidity up. I use carefresh bedding with all my bigger Corn Snakes(even the ones that are in tubs..no high humidity),it can be found in the hamster or bedding section at petco or any pet shop. Aspen works great too.
You should probably get some more holes in that tub to let the humidity out and allow me to soak when he want in a water dish :) They also sell heavy ceramic dog dishes. Too much humidity will cause health problems.

get rid of the eco earth, it will create to much humidty, and its abit custy, all that will lead to health probs.
