My dad threw away my frozen mice! 
My dad went rummaging through the freezer, and he thought the bag that my mice were in was empty (they were in a large paper bag) and he threw them away! I went to feed Jynx tonight and her mice were gone, so I looked in the garbage and they were all in various states of decay. So they are totally not an option. I could catch a wild mouse easily, even a baby, but I don’t think I’d ever risk it. I feel so bad, because she was so ready to eat. Ordering more off the internet isn’t practical, because shipping went up to $40, and I’m just not paying that much (not that I have the money). I know I should have a backup plan. I’m also 225 miles away from the nearest pet store. I’m getting my breeder mice Saturday, but they won’t have babies until 4 weeks after I get them. So I’m kind of in panic mode. Any suggestions as to what I could do? If it helps, she’s a little over 2 foot and eating fuzzies (maybe hoppers, I haven’t tried).

Well, where are you getting the breeder mice from? Maby they have some small enough. And, no don’t risk it with a wild caught mouse it might have parasites, or even have gotten into decon or something that could kill your snake. Don’t panic if your snake has to wait a couple weeks, hell be o.k. I would make dad pay the shipping.

If you order online the mice are usually so much cheaper that the shipping doesn’t matter much. But then again I ordered 200 pinkies, 100 hoppers, and 50 adult mice...shipping was $35 from Rodentpro. But the pinkies were only 12 cents each.

Thanks for the replies. ILoveGreen, I only order 25 mice at a time because I only have one snake, and she outgrows them quite quickly :) So for 25 hoppers, its’ about $13.00 from where I ordered. then shipping, $42.00. i live in small town out of the way, so thats another tax, $4.00. so that comes to $59.00, and I’m not paying that much. This website is the only one where i can get quantities of 25, all others are 50 or 100. and thanks to Scaly, I’m probably just going to get some small mice when I get my breeders and feed them while my breeders are, well, breeding. so thanks a ton guys!!

Well, I got my breeders today and they are waaaay too cute to be mice :) lol. But I love them, they’re already tame. I also got 2 small mice, had my brother do away with them (well, I wasn’t gonna do it!), and they are in the freezer so that she can have some good meals while these guys multiply. Thanks.
