hi
im about to put a whole new load of things into my tank so it
doesnt look as boring. gonna buy almost everything new for my
corn. i was just wondering what you guys think, is it safe to
put real rocks in there from outside? once cleaned and disinfected.
i have a stash of flat rocks and i was going to clean and disinfect
them and make them into some sort of stack formation. just wondering
if it is a safe thing to do.
thanks

I have many rocks from outside that I love to arrange in the tanks, I even have shells that my baby Corn loves to hide under. The rocks may also prove to be helpful with shed, so the snake can rub up against them. As long as you disinfect the rocks, I see no problem in putting them in.

Yes, it’s perfectly fine as long as you get them disinfected first. So are branches. I’ve used both before. Just make sure you don’t put anything sharp in their cage. You don’t need potential injuries.

Here is my creamsicle, Jack’s tank before and after I added some nice fake plants and some branches I found in the woods. He loves it.

thats exactly what i want. an awesome looking tank.
gonna put in a large exoterra waterfall, go back to
aspen from the astro turf and add some large
branches and rocks and some of the exoterra brand
plants where you bury the base in the substrate and have the
rest protrude out. and some vines and hanging plants and such.
my viv looks mildly boring at the moment.

this is it:

A waterfall, huh? That should be something to see! Make sure to post some pictures after you re-do your snake’s house. Sounds like it will be great. :)

yes, just one of those exoterra waterfalls.
that hasnt been got yet and now im on the
fence about it. but today all i did was pick
up some aspen and some leaves that hang off
the walls and a grapevine and this is what it looks
like now. still have to make my real rock structure.
semi-complete.
thoughts?

Looks good! I’m sure your snake is loving all the extra cover and burrowing space.

What’s up with the duct tape? What’s it holding together? The tank looks sweet. are you using a UTH or just the lamp?

hi
i dont recall the size of the tank...
but the decor in there that i bought was 50
dollars canadian. which was all the plants, the
aspen, the big vine/stick in the middle and thats
it. its been so long since i bought the hides and
the water dish i really have no idea how much
those were. and im using the a uth as well, but
i have it of for now. debating using it again.
dont want my guy to burrow over there and
burn himself. and as for the duct tape, its just covering
the edge of the lid, as i got this tank when he was still
fairly small and there was some big ish gaps on the corners
and stuff, enough to make me paranoid, so i had it
all covered up so there was no way he was
squeezing or pushing his way outta there. itll look much
nicer once i get my rocks and such in.
