New addition
I own an African Fat Tailed gecko, almost 5 years now, so I know all about thermoregulation and proper humidity levels and hides and all, I just would like a little guidance from actual owners of these beautiful Corns!! |

Here is my creamsicle, Jack’s tank. It’s a 67 gallon home-made tank, 4’x18"x18".
It does heat up the entire room quite a bit if you’re not careful, and I wouldn’t suggest using a heat lamp on a smaller sized tank because it dries the air out and can heat the whole tank so there is no cool side. But hey, some people prefer lamps. If you can get them to work well, great. I’m just a UTH person. This is my bloodred, Marvin’s tank. It’s a 40 gallon long, and I use a UTH with it. I also put fake plants and branches in it.
The snakes love their branches!
Of course, this is kind of going overboard. I’m guessing you’d probably be getting a juvenile corn, and if that’s the case, a 10 or 20 gallon is best to start in. It’s easier to fill with hides and keep them feeling secure. My guys are nearing on 4’ now, though, so they’ve long since outgrown their 10 gallons. Hope this was helpful! |

By the way, your creamsicle is gorgeous! Not sure what I’ll get, as far as morph and age. I don’t want to order online, and there’s limited shops around me (Massachusetts), maybe like 4 or so. If you know a reputable dealer, let me know though... |

Well, the size of the enclosure depends on how much you’re willing to pay and how much you think is necessary for your snake. Personally, I will be looking for something even bigger for my snakes as they continue to grow. (Adult size is about 5-6’) I like them to have plenty of space to stretch out in. But 3’x18"x18" is bigger than a 30 gallon tank, and most people use tanks about that size, or smaller. So yes, 3’x18"x18" should be alright. I got my snakes from Kathy Love from cornutopia.com I would highly recommend ordering from her. My snakes were active, healthy, and gave me no problems feeding. She’s also very helpful and pleasant to do business with. Here are my guys 3 years later: Bloodred
And since the spider forum is dead... Check out my A. seemanni. :) |
