Sick Snake Isaac had his prolapse a few months back, we went to the vet, got meds, they worked for a bit, but the swelling is back. i took him to the vet today, and he is having his stool inspected by the lab, and i should find something out tomorrow. my question is, my vet said he could be constipated, and thats why hes swollen. he hasnt made a poo in a while, another reason for the vet trip today, but she said to keep him hydrated and everything. he is almost a year, and he stopped growing a few months ago. if he doesnt have some sort of parasitic infection, is there something else that would severly stunt his growth? his feeding habbits have been normal, he has been eating the right amount, and the problem started a few weeks before his prolapse. he grew like a weed when he was a hatchling, but its almost stopped now. what could cause this? both parents, i was told, were healthy and huge.

Sick Snake the vet says the tests came back clear. he is very constipated. is there something i can give him to help move things along? i was told a tiny bit of mineral oil, or pineapple juice might help. could these work, or would they hurt him? any input would be appreciated

Sick Snake Mineral oil I can see sorta... Pineapple juice is pretty acidic. (Is that what the vet recommended?)
Keeping it hydrated is key for sure. Perhaps a 20 minute soak in a warm bath ( Not hot, don’t wanna cook the guy!) and perhaps some clear pedialite in its drinking water- 50/50 mix to keep its electrolytes up.

Sick Snake yes. she said on drop to every 5 oz, and hes 14. and i will go get some pedialite in after im done writing this. i was told to soak him 3 days after he eats, but i dont want to stress him so soon and have a regurge. i also read that some people try to manipulate the poo that is stuck. is this safe for him?
