 My 3 corns

Just took some quick pictures of my entire collection, thought I’d post some updated pictures.

Male amelanistic corn snake - Sunny Tequila

Sunny is now 4-5 years old. I’ve had him since he was a wee little hatchling. Love this guy. He’s in a 30g breeder tank, just for size reference.

Female motley snow cornsnake - Voodoo Tiki
Female orange amelanistic cornsnake - Maragarita

(Before the question comes up - one is always fed outside the tub.)

You house the 2 females together? Everyone is always telling me not to do that, have you had any problems?

No problems. They’ve been together for about 6 months now. One is always removed to feed though - they have ridiculous feed response, and I don’t want one or the other to get injured.

Great looking snakes, but, yes, housing them together does concern me for various reasons. Even if fed separately, there is still going to be dominance issues. Them coiled about one another is them competing for dominance. To us it appears subtle, but it can become stressful for the snakes. More so the one being dominated than the one dominating. There are other potential issues beyond this too, of course (not knowing who is defecating and who is not, not knowing who is drinking and who is not, cannibalism is not unheard of ... etc. etc.). Snakes are solitary in the wild, unless for mating or, some snake species sometimes partake in nesting together during winter, but not beyond that. My advice would be to get them separate enclosures. But, that’s just what I think.

Thanks Shadow, I’m well aware of everything that could "possibly" go wrong. They are just fine.

Yeah my friend housed two snakes together- not being sure if they were male or female- while they were babies and they were just fine together. Sadly one of the corns had died from an accident not anything two do with housing snakes together. But i would always be cautios and never house snakes of differnet sizes together.
