My corn is sick and will not eat I just got a corn snake yesterday.... it is a beautiful Anerythristic Motley Corn Snake.... i got it knowing it was sick and did not pay anything for it.... i got it from someone less experenced than i and did not want it to die on her.... i have tried to get it to eat but it will not... It is about 2.5 feet she said it would eat a mouse then 3 days later throw it back up.... and a couple months later it would do it again.... last time it ate was 1 month ago... it is skinney and you can see the wrinkles on it from some loose skin... i have tried a fuzzy(frozen thaw) tried to move it around... tried leaving it in the cage... tried feeding in a seperate cage.... tried total darkness feeding... tried a goldfish in the water dish... i will try some broth on the fuzzy and an adult live mouse... does anyone have any other suggestions?

My corn is sick and will not eat It sounds pretty serious. If I were you, I would take him to the vet immediately. Just one question, though, are you keeping him warm after eating? Corns (and most snakes) need to have a very warm environment after they eat, that is how they digest their food. The most responsible thing to do at this point, though, is to take him to see the vet as soon as possible. The poor thing could have an infection or something even more serious. Hope you can get him well soon, keep us up to date!

My corn is sick and will not eat the lady i got him from did not keep him warm... i however do ... my house is kept at 80 degrees because i have numerous snakes and a caiman... i also have a heat light on him.... so being warm is no longer an issue for him... i am thinking i do need to take him to a vet.. i got to find one who will see a corn snake.

My corn is sick and will not eat Wrinkled, loose skin can also be caused by dehydration. I’d get his humidity up to about 50% and try feeding a small meal. The vomiting could have easily been caused by the snake not being kept warm and possibly being handled by the inexperienced owner.
Keeping him warm and maybe giving him a 15-30 minute soak in lukewarm water should do him good. You can also try scenting his meals with lizard pee, tuna, or chicken broth. I’ve even heard that some like a dab of dish soap. You could also try feeding him a small anole to get him started eating again. Just make sure that you’re not trying to feed him too often and stressing him out.
Good luck!
