 Genetics question- Butters

I am trying to wrap my head around corn genetics and have exhausted the resources that serpwidgets has up. I can do punetts for normals, amels, anerys, and snows and any combo of hets for those, but I can’t figure out butters. When I plug amel + caramel into an online predictor, it gives all normal babies. The only way I can figure to get butters is amel het caramel + caramel het amel. Can anyone explain this to me??
I have an amel (unknown hets) and would like to know if it is possible for it to have butter babies.

I thought that butter was amel x caramel, but I’m not sure about that. Just for fun, here are some pics of my butter, Ceres. She’s about a year and a half.

If you can do a punnet for snow then you can do one for butter. Snows are amel & anery; butters are amel & caramel.

To get a butter out a pairing, each parents would have to exhibit or carry the genes for both amel & caramel

Thank You! I get it now. It was just a little more complicated than I thought it was.

Ceres is so pretty! As soon as I move somewhere that allows pets (until then it would probably be more than uwise to expand our little snake collection) I want to get a butter motley het. stripe. I think they are beautiful! And if I breed him to my snow stripe I’ll get amel motleys and stripes. By second generation, I could be producing butter motleys and stripes too!

Thanks. She is really tame, too. Never bitten me. Butters are really pretty snakes. I’ve been told that Ceres has a lot of orange on her for a butter, so it’s also cool that there is some variety in them. I really like the butter stripes as well, be sure to update if you do eventually decide to breed. :)
