Buying another corn? Some tips!! Please answer! Thanks

Ok so I have an female Miami het Amel het hypo corn ( very long ) Anyways she is an 09 born in september. I got her from my teacher who is a professional snake breeder. He mentioned that he was going to breed again during the spring. He was going to breed his other male with his Amel female ...anyways he predicts they will hatched in septmeber and when I come back to school I was thinking of buying another one. A male so I can breed my female checkers . Obviously when they are older. But do you think they will be okay together? I will get a bigger enviroment. The whole affording the needs of the snake is no problem because I can. So any opinions. By the way the snakes won’t be related in anyway. If they were would that cause any health issues?

Inbreeding is not a large concern with corn snakes UNLESS they have a genetic disease such as stargazing. If you are curious about that check youtube.

If you want to own 2 snakes, you need 2 environments (not just one big one.) Then you put them together only when you want them to breed.

Usually the rule of thumb for breeding is 3 years old, 3 feet long, and 300 grams. Males can be a little smaller/younger but females have to be big enough to handle egg-laying.

If you know what the new snake’s father is, I can tell you what the babies will be. I like genetics :)

Good luck!
