Same with any paint or stain you use. It should be completely out gassed to prevent respiratory infections (Boids and pythons are especially sensitive to this, but all snakes can get RIs or neurological problems from too many fumes) That said, man there’s some really cool things you can make if you know your carpentry. Make sure you have escape proof vents. A removable shelf doesnt go amiss other so they can bask or hide underneath. My boa LOVES her shelf in her giant tank.
