A little help please 
I recently brought 2 corn snakes (rescued so I know there will be a few problems) I got them Tuesday, fed them Thursday because the person I brought them from was only feeding them fortnightly and I knew that wasn’t right. The male ate his mice no problem, the female however only ate 1 out of 3. I fed them seperately as recommended. Temperatures are spot on with requirements as is the humidity level. I know I’ve only had them a few days but should I be worried?

that depends, how big are the snakes, how big are the mice. if your feeding 3 mice its probably not a big deal. and they should be fed about every seven days. ps what is a fornight?

I have never heard of fortnight either and neigther have the people I asked, so it must be something you say over in the UK. I asked a couple of people just to make sure it wasn’t me! I am no expert, but I think if she ate one then that is fine. They generally only eat one prey item per feeding about once a week as stated above.

Some Americans do say fortnight but I heard sennight for the first time a few weeks ago. I suggest you feed them one adult mouse once a week and feed it on the same day every week because it is easier to stay on a schedule that way. Good luck. Kudos on the rescue.

ive heard fortnight i just didnt know what it was. 3 mice is a lot. just go with 1. SCSnakeman, is it okay to feed my corns about every 5-6 days? i usually feed them about once a week when i have time.

I found the problem people, my little treasure is about to shead her skin, I’m so proud *cries* lol anyway I didn’t realise fortnight wasn’t a common thing over there oh well learn something new everyday.

I feed mine every Sunday but I know people who feed every five days and some who feed every ten days and all of us have nice healthy snakes. I feed the same day every week because it is easier to keep up with.
