 Hypomelanistic or Amelanistic

Just wondering if anyone can help. Is my striped corn amelanistic or hypomelanistic? Here’s quite a close up picture of him. He was just sold as "striped". His eyes are orange, not pink, about 2 years old now. The eyes don’t show up as well with the contracted picture on here... oh well. What do you all think? I’m particularly interested to know as he’s a father to be! (but he doesn’t realise lol)...

Its deffinately not a striped amel. because of the black eyes. I am actually going to go with a nicely colored striped normal.

Thanks Adam, so maybe the shop were right that he’s just striped! So maybe if we do get babies and I bought another striped corn, we might get some striped ones from breeding the babies with the new striped corn? (looking rather far into the future as she hasn’t even laid the eggs yet!)

Sorry I didn’t reply until now - I was asleep! Time difference!

She shed on Thursday 19th. And yes, she is active at night - yesterday she kept pressing her little face against the glass so I got her out to say hello, seeing if I could feel eggs like they do on those snake programmes on TV at the same time! (the snakebuster etc - sure you have them in the US as well because he’s Australian so he must be international!) Anyway she still just feels soft but looks large. She’s usually roaming around when I go to bed around midnight, and has curled up in her lay box by morning.

How is your non eating baby? Will you have to consider tube feeding?

Speak to you later.

Oh wow, what a gorgeous snake. I love anery corns, and the striped type A ones are absolutely stunning.

Tony, am I right in thinking the products of breeding a striped and a type A anery corn will be normal corns? (assuming neither of them are het for anything else which the shop didn’t say they were).

Thanks,

Jessica

You would produce hets and may be lucky enough to produce one or two anery. I will let you know in about 35 days yet we bred the striped in the picture with our type A.

Tony, you mean I might produce an anery from this striped corn (you didn’t think I meant from a striped anery did you - wish I had one of those but I don’t!) and an anery? That would be fantastic! Keep us updated on your eggs.

Other Tony (Lively)! - of course you can use a pic of him. I have quite a few of him - this one is close up of his face but if you’d like one of the whole of him just let me know. I’ll send this one to your site later anyway.

Thanks guys.

Tony (Lively), I’ve left a message on your website but couldn’t find your email address posted or a way of attaching the picture to the message I posted there. How do I send the picture to you? You can’t post email addresses on the board as I have already discovered!

Thanks,

Jessica
