 Mouse bite

Hey guys my snake

Just got bit by a mouse while feeding it no damage was really done but a scale came off. is there anything I should know?

Yeah, My advice would be not to feed live incase your snake isn’t hungry, that tends to be when the mouse will attack. I’ve heard of a case where the mouse won, In my eyes It’s just not worth the risk. I don’t know the full situation but (perhaps you have tried f/t but your snake will only feed on live?), so I can’t judge more than I have said.

I’ve been told to use triple antibacterial ointment, but I would ask someone more knowlegable about that first.

Hydrogen Peroxide and Neosporin (Triple Antibiotic Ointment works great as well), and no more live prey would be my advice ;)

I wouldn’t do peroxide more than just the initial cleansing. It does kill microbes but it also damages ALL cells, including any new healing skin cells

if i were u i would take ure snake to the vet (just incase) he could get a serious infection, yea and i also agree with feeding dead mice my uncles python waz eated my a rat because he wazn’t hungry, and the rat waz! i really do advize it my uncle now feeds all 100 of hes snakes dead rats and rabbits.
