To bathe or not to bathe...

I’ve been trying to find some articles on bathing your snake. I saw that someone posted a picture of their snake in bath water and I was curious as to whether or not it was necessary and if it is necessary, how often do you do it? Also, is it a warm water bath or a cool water bath? Do you place the snake in a container with a certain amount (inches) of water?
Just curious as we want to keep Markey healthy and happy. He just shed today. His skin came off in one piece. It’s so cool!

If you’re snake is shedding well then I would not worry about it. The only time I have given my corn a soak is when it was constipated (it really works). The water should be lukewarm.

Now that your snake shed, it must be hungry. It’s dinner time.

That has been taken care of...:) Markey went right to his hide on the warm side and I haven’t seen him since. LOL
How on earth did you know that your snake was constipated?? Markey usually goes three days after he eats although when I cleaned his viv tonight, I noticed that he went two more times that I didn’t know about. Poor baby was living in unsanitary conditions....he’s got it rough.

How I knew? Let’s call it an educated guess. Lack of faeces is one sign, unwillingness to eat could be another. This was over a year and a half ago and I didn’t have this problem since, so I can’t really remember. Actually, I’ve been told that this is quite common in young corns (perhaps to mean common in young corns stuck in pet shops...).

Yes. I really care about corns (and other animals I know) and I think they’re among the most interesting snakes to keep. How much I know about them could be debatable, though I believe I have a fair knowledge of them.
