The Precise and Practical Guide to Breeding the Black Cricket, by Ladybird :)
The guide can be adapted for the other cricket species, by changing a few things. I’ll only put that information in if there is a high demand for it. Please tell me what you think! The Precise and Practical Guide to Breeding the Black Cricket (Gryllus Bimaculatus) by Ladybird |

I have issues with the paper towels tho, especially moist ones. I have found that moisture and humidity causes them to STINK! I keep the bottom of the tubs dry and clean! I don’t even see the need for the water dish - just another wet paper towel and potential for leaks. I prefer to give fresh chopped up veggies, like carrots, potatoes, brocolli and celery for moisture. I have been doing this for years, and have a verrrry low mortality rate. I never give fruit either - tends to attract gnats or fruitflies. You can also use bran flakes and baby cereal which is fortified with vitamins. Other than that, you have done an excellent job! |
