Adult bite will hurt, but it’s not that bad. Generally speaking cricket that are more than a couple of week old can bite you however since their teeth are still fairly small, you won’t noticed it. They will not bite when you pick them up, only reason they bite your hand is when you close them in your hand so they can’t escape or when you try to squeeze them. If you’re like me and hate to touch them, use a tweezers.

LOL there bite doesn’t hurt one bit. If you hold them right, they can’t bite you. The little ones have such small mandibles that they can barely even peirce the skin. Jerusalum crickets have a mean bite though. There a better source of vitamins and they don’t grow wings... And they can get up to 2 1/2 inches long so they can make a meal for any herp.

depending on what you hold your crickets in i would get an empty paper towl or toilet paper roll and leave in in there and cricx would crall in there you then grab the tube and shake it over the tank and the crickets will come out. you never have to touch them

If it is a small number of crickets, you can also put them in the fridge for 2 or 3 minutes, they’ll cool down, and slow down.. then you can move them without them hopping as much.. but as soon as they warm up they’ll start hoppin around again......

I found best way to keep crix escaping from becoming a huge problem is by placing criket poison down in the room I keep them. Also...a big thing is I am grossed out beyond imagination by them, so I use leather gloves to pick them up...I know...kinda sissy, so I dont have a problem with them biting me :). Hope it helps.

I have my new cat break oopen and drop a box of 80 crickets.
They were all over my house. kinda gross.
I just corner one, pick it up and drop it in the tank one at a time.
