 Mystery crickets

I have had crickets for 5-6 weeks from the petstore of wich they were already full grown. They surprisingly haven’t died yet and I can’t get them to breed. I have provided a mixture of potting soil and peat moss in their cage. They get in it, but I haven’t seen any signs of eggs or babies. I feed them cricket feed, dry cat food, fish food, and oatmeal. I even occasionally give them fruits and veggies. I keep them well watered with cricket quencher. They have plenty of hiding places. I just don’t understand why they aren’t all dead and why they haven’t been reproducing. Has anyone ever seen this before?

Adult cricket can live up to a month or more. Your breeding substrate must be moist for the cricket to lay their egg and it may take up to 3 weeks before the egg hatch.

I moisten the soil 1-2 times a day. I found out all I have left are females. How odd! Thanks anyway.

I only have about 15 left because I have been feeding them to my fowler’s toad. I found out I only have females left though so I am probably going to buy about 100 more. I think the females may have longer life spans or they just like eating the males.
