When I have just set up my breeding enclosure this weekend and put in approximately 40 crickets. The encloser is being kept at room temperature. In there I have tons of hiding places, food, and water. I also have a little container with dirt and soil mixed together for the crickets to lay there eggs. I am making sure the egg laying container is staying moist but not too wet. How long should it be until the crickets start to lay eggs? I also want to know if there is anything else i should add.

When make sure they are adult crickets.if u have them make sure the females egg laying tube is about ------- this long or the size of your thumbnail. they start to breed rite away. adult crickets have wings but nly the males chirp.

When yes u will, the female crickets will dig holes to lay their eggs in.but becareful becuase the males can eat the eggs.you can put a mesh or little fence were females and still stick their egg laying tube in to lay the eggs while the males cant dig.the eggs are oval shape.this is a pic of what the egg will looked like but its more like a whitish oval.picture of egg
