wow 51 now i used a heating device and it help but i wanted to use less electricity so i used it only at night(i used the sun at day).i havent use a heating device for 4-5 weeks and i had no success, heating devices help ALOT. so far everyday im find more and more. But one question, after i moist the dirt it becomes hard and patted down, should i loosen it up?or will it kill the eggs? =D

Nah don’t lossen the dirt because that is just more work for you to do. The eggs are fine, just leave it as it is.

Yea the egg sack is very thin, but also the way to tell if the eggs are about to hatch is by looking for the two red eyes in the eggs and if those are present then the eggs will hatch in the next few day.

Cajun, They just keep coming :P

Instead of using dirt, I used bed-a-beast because It doesn’t get patted down like dirt. Also, it doesn’t clump.

 WHOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!!

-my breeding setup is this recycling bin about 2x3 feet and 2 feet high(with tape so that none escapes)
-about 100 crickets
-i feed them potatoes, carrots, and apples, occasionally other insects
-i use no subrate(too messy)
-for water i use wet paper towels
-i seperated the eggs from the crickets
-i left the egg container in there for 1 week before taking it out(for them to lay more eggs)
-my garage was around 85 degrees constantly
-i took out all the dead ones and clean the nasty stuff(poo around once a week)

i built a cage like that and they are laying alot more eggs. i put some stripped cardboard in and they seem to like it more than the soil though.
