 Quick Question.

I am going to hawaii, for a week, and have a 15 quart cricket keeper. It is in my room. Will the crickets make any effort to escape? They will be checked on every other day. is this a bad idea? There are a lot of hiding spots, and I hardley ever see them come out. Also, my females, are digging holes in the soil box, the soil is damp, and ready for eggs. They sit in the hole all day. Are they laying eggs? how many eggs does a cricket lay?

Like all insect, crickets will make any effort to escape so your best bet is to get a mesh screen lid or if the cricket’s keeper is high enought then your good.

A lot of hiding spots are good because they will less likely eat each other. Also crickets are nocturnal so they are more active at night than in the day.

More than likely, just observe them for a while and you’ll see that they females will stick her "needle like" egg tube into the soil. Each female can lay eggs in the high double digits to low triple digits.
