 Cant keep soil moist

hey ny ideas on how to keep the peat moist moist long enough i tried using a heater then a heated light and the soil keeps drying out rapidly all help will be apriciated

You probably have too much heat. The eggs will hatch at room temp, just takes a few days longer. I just keep my hatching bin (clear plastic shoebox) with the tub of substrate/eggs on top of one of my vivs. That seems to be plenty of heat, but not enough to dry out the eggs. Also, you can dribble some water on it daily as needed.

I use potting soil...restains water quite well...and I keep it moist daily. Just dont wash the eggs away. lol

I keep a little squirt gun, the kind you get in party favors, by the cricket container so whenever the sand needs a little moistening, I give it a squirt.

I use a spray bottle, but if the soil seems like it is getting too dry then I just add some water to it. If you accidently flood the container, then just tip it and the excess will run out. Basically it will be fine if you don’t rlood it on a regular basis, or let it dry up completely.
